Yellowstone was a really amazing park to visit and the landscapes
and various different types of lands were amazing. There is a loop
that goes around the whole park and you can drive the loop and stop
at all of the important points without doing much walking. Back
country hiking is possible in yellowstone but is not as restrictive
and challenging to get as other parks. We did a one night back
country hike to electric peak and we just walked into the ranger
station and booked it right on the spot. Its important to note that
there are some hike permits that are awarded in a lottery system so
make sure to check out the
Yellowstone's National Park Service Website.
We stayed at Grand Village Campground and were lucky enough to hear
the Elk walking around and night and calling each other. It was an
incredible and totally unexpected experience. We set up camp and
then drove around the Yellowstone loop on most of the days. You can
also stop at one of the thermal water rivers and sit in the water
that was very relaxing but be careful because some fo the waters can
get extremely hot.
Overall Yellowstone was a really family friendly place. Old Faithful
was beautiful and we got to see Bison walking the streets right next
to us one day during breakfast. We also saw Bears and wolves.
